2017 In Review

A Year for the Books

I am still in shock that 2017 is coming to an end. It was such a crazy busy year but I loved every minute of it.

Here are some of the highlights of the year.

California

We spent 5 months in California! We are so unbelievably lucky and got this opportunity at the perfect time in our lives. The stars really aligned on this one!

When Allie was a child she had an “LA Fund”, a piggy bank to save money for her future visit to the city of angels. I am so glad that her dreams came true and we got to spend so much time in sunny California. She is constantly pesting me to go back!

We went spent time exploring Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Palm Springs and the Big Sur – so much of the amazing state! We spent our days lounging on the beach and exploring cozy cafes and there isn’t much more Allie and I would want in our life!

We met so many amazing people, like our new bestie Katie and got to meet internet friends Megan and Whitney.

The biggest highlight of California? Watching the sunset from the rooftop of the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel with a cocktail in my hand and my favourite human by my side.

Starting my new job full time

I don’t really talk about my “actual” job on social media, but I have started working full time! I had only been working part-time while in school. This job is a real passion of mine even though it is very hard sometimes!

I started a blog!

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!? I am still a little in shock that I am a blogger now. I love what I have created here on Coastal Curiosity! I have always been a very creative person and this is just the outlet I needed in my life.

I reached social media goals

This one is a little silly, I’ll admit. I had set a few goals for us, numbers we would like to meet by Christmas. We are STRONG believers in not focusing on follower counts, so I really don’t know why I did this. I am happy to announce we met 2 of our 3 goals! WOO!

I am soooo excited to see what 2018 holds for us! Fingers crossed there is more travel and sunshine in our future.

We totally recommend California! It was so sunny, had the best cafes, and endless places to explore. With the vast deserts and coastline, thick forests and bustling cities, there really is something for everyone!
