Hi everyone, it’s Allie again.
We’re having a Christmas party later this week, and we’ve been trying to narrow down some festive drinks to serve our guests. We want to stick with a base that can be used a variety of ways but still seems festive and special.
Sam and I have been obsessed with Coldstream Clear’s Candy Cane Vodka (tastes like melted candy canes, I kid you not), so we decided that would be the base for our holiday drinks.
Here’s what we came up with:
This drink is a great way to trick your guests into thinking that you know how to bartend. It also looks amazing. We got the idea for this one right from Coldstream Clear.
- 1.5oz Coldstream Clear Candy Cane Vodka
- 1.5oz Coldstream Clear Premium Vodka
- candy canes, crushed
Crush up one candy cane to rim the outside of a martini glass.
Pour the Premium Vodka and the Candy Cane vodka into a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake for 15 seconds.
Pour into the rimmed glass, and serve. (Your guests will think you’re fancier than even the fanciest holiday pants!)
Peppermint Spiked Nog
A classic. Sam is obsessed with this drink and had been sipping one most evenings this week. For those of you who don’t enjoy eggnog (me), try subbing chocolate soy or almond milk.
- 1oz Coldstream Clear Candy Cane Vodka
- 6oz eggnog of choice (or chocolate milk)
- ground cinnamon
Simply pour the eggnog and Candy Cane into a mug, or serving glass of your choice. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Enjoy!
My go-to drink is a Moscow Mule. I thought I’d give it a shot with the candy cane vodka, and man did it turn out great. Somehow the ginger and peppermint come together to create such a refreshing, but also festive feeling drink.
- 1 oz Coldstream Clear Candy Cane Vodka
- 1 oz Premium Vodka
- 6oz ginger beer
- ice, crushed
Squeeze a bit of lime juice into your serving glass with ice. Pour in both vodkas and the ginger beer. Stir, and serve.
You can get Coldstream Clear Candy Cane Vodka at select NSLC stores throughout Nova Scotia, and at local markets (We like to get ours at the Halifax Seaport Farmer’s Market!)
